Privacy Policy

Clarity Companion LLC is a small company, and this is a plain-English policy. The short version: we collect only what you choose to give us, we use it only to respond to you and do the work you asked about, we don't run ads or analytics trackers on this site, and we never sell your information. The details follow.

Who we are

Clarity Companion LLC is an Ohio limited liability company based in Oberlin, Ohio. This policy covers claritycompanionllc.com, including our services pages and the discovery intake tool at /services/discovery.

Our other platforms — such as remodel.guide, Remodelry, michigancannabis.guide, and the rest — live on their own domains and may have their own policies. What you do on those sites is covered there, not here.

What we collect, and when

Just browsing

If you're only reading the site, we collect essentially nothing. This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics or advertising trackers. Our hosting provider (Vercel) keeps standard, short-lived server logs — things like IP address and request URL — to run and protect the service, as every host does.

The contact form

If you use the contact form on the services page, you give us your name, email address, and optionally your business name, what you're interested in, and a message. That submission is delivered to us as an email (via our email provider, Resend) so we can reply to you. We don't add you to a mailing list, and there is no newsletter to unsubscribe from — we only write back.

The discovery tool

The discovery intake at /services/discovery is where the most information changes hands, because that's its job. Whichever track you choose:

• Your answers — about your business, how you get leads, your budget comfort, and so on — are compiled into a written brief. The brief is sent to us by email and stored securely so a real person can follow up with you.
• If you talk with C.C. (the conversational track), your messages are processed by Anthropic's Claude AI to generate C.C.'s replies, and the conversation transcript accompanies your brief. Anthropic does not use API conversations like these to train its models by default.
• Conversation session data expires automatically after 7 days. Completed briefs are kept as business records for as long as we're talking with you about a project, and you can ask us to delete yours at any time.
• If you start but don't finish, the partial answers you already provided may appear in an internal daily summary so we know the tool is working. They're treated the same way as everything else here: never sold, never shared beyond the providers below.
• "Email me my brief" sends a copy to the address you provided, and nothing else — it doesn't sign you up for anything.

Rate limiting

To keep bots and abuse out, our forms and the discovery tool apply rate limits based on IP address. Those records are short-lived (minutes to an hour) and are used only for abuse prevention.

Who we share it with

Only the service providers that make the site work, and only as much as each one needs:

• Vercel — hosts the site and runs our form handlers.
• Resend — delivers our email (your contact-form message, your brief, your copy of your brief).
• Anthropic — processes discovery conversations with Claude to generate C.C.'s replies.
• Upstash — provides the database where briefs and short-lived session data are stored.

We do not sell your personal information, share it with advertisers, or trade it with data brokers — not now, not ever. We would disclose information beyond the list above only if legally required to.

Your choices

Email us and we'll handle it — there's no portal or form-behind-a-form:

• See it — ask what we have about you and we'll send it.
• Fix it — if something's wrong, we'll correct it.
• Delete it — ask and we'll delete your brief, transcript, and correspondence, unless we're legally required to keep something.

Children

This site is for business owners and adults making consequential decisions. It's not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has submitted information here, email us and we'll delete it.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS, form handlers validate and limit what they accept, API keys never reach your browser, and stored data lives with the providers named above under their security programs. No system is perfect, but we keep the surface area deliberately small: no accounts, no passwords, no payment data collected on this site.

Changes to this policy

If our practices change, this page changes with them, and the "last updated" date at the top will tell you. Meaningful changes won't be applied retroactively to information collected under an older version without telling you.
